When I use Firefox on and android TV box and I want to access to a page it keeps re directing me to google.com It started a few updates ago then it stopped with one version and now it does it again. Version of Firefox is 104.2.0 (build #2015902897) it doesn't have about:config and I can't find any solution on the net. I appreciate the help

Hi

Firefox for Android is designed for or tested on Android TV devices. I recommend that you use a dedicated Android TV browser.

It isn't an android TV. It is a box with android where Firefox used to work for years until I updated and the problem started. So your answer is useless to solve the problem.

What is the make and model of this box?

Is it running Android for phones and tablets, or is it running Android TV?

It is the orbsmart s85 with android 9. But don't Blame It because it used to work without a problem. Something got changed on an update of firefox and since them it re directs me. The box works like a charm and has support for many browsers. I appreciate your time

Hi

That device is running the Android TV variant of Android. Firefox for Android is not designed for Android TV devices.

So what do you mean with that? That's the reason why it re directs since 3 updates ago or so? It's the only problem it has otherwise works beautifully. It has to have a solution. Thanks for letting me know that info anyway

Maybe it should mention that it only re directs from one site. Others works just fine

What I a trying to say is that if you have had any use of Firefox for Android on that device, it is has been through luck, more than design.

We have not designed or developed Firefox for Android to be used on that device.

So the solution is to keep updating and hopefully I will be so lucky that the problem will be resolve ?

The better solution would be to use a dedicated Android TV web browser available for that device.
