Never before have I had more direct proof that my iPhone activating my iPhones microphone when I don’t ask it to. This incident really creeped me out. I went to an artist market and was asking an artist some questions about her piece. They’re sculptures and had sets of 3 repeating numbers on the base, one with 444, another with 333 and the last with 888. I got home about an hour later and I went to google something, completely unrelated, for the first time since I got back, I started the question (even with misspellings) “what does…” and the auto fill put in “what does 333 mean” and “what does 444 mean”. Here is a screenshot (the forum doesn’t seem to upload my image, just keeps spinning.) In no way whatsoever did I indicate to my phone about these numbers, the only time it was mentioned was during a conversation with the artist. And it was her voice speaking the numbers, not mine. The phone was locked, in my pocket during this conversation. I’ve turned off all of the microphone access to my applications, including Google and Firefox. Firefox claims to have higher privacy standards than other browsers, this is why I use it instead of the Google app. This is incredibly disturbing and I hope that Firefox addresses this.
