I read where the advertisement for firefox VPN says firefox will never log, track or share network data for the firefox VPN. this is a really incomplete and misleading statement. instead, why don't you post a privacy policy and let me read it?

here are a list of problems I have with the advertising statement.

  1. 1 firefox does not log track or share the network data but that doesn't tell me that no one or no organization or no entity will track log or share the network data or any other data that is derived from this data.
  1. 2 even if the language says no one will log track or share your network data that does not include anonymized data. see the definition of "your". if the user has already consented to data collection in such a way that they do not own the data collected, the "your data" definition is moot. there is no user owned data if the user does not own the data.
  1. 3 aggregate network trends, aggregate user interests, time of day of network requests and transmissions, IP location by region, aggregate screen size, aggregate operating system data is data that a user may not want to contribute to being stored in a database for any reason yet it is not fully explained if this data exists, is stored, or shared and if so how it is created, how it is stored, how long is it stored, and who has access or may in the future have access to the data.
  1. 4 under normal operation of computer networks, some data must be logged to facilitate network administration and security as well as compliance with local, state, and federal law. it is not clear to me what data is collected in due course when the misleading advertisement implies that no data is logged, stored or shared. I find it hard to believe that firefox and mozilla does not comply with the law in such situations where data logging, tracking, and sharing may be mandatory.

I would be interested in reading a more accurate statement from firefox or mozilla about what data is actually collected, stored, used and how long it is stored, who may have access to this data, and what recourse a user has if they want a copy of this data, or if they want the data to be deleted after opting out after data collection has already happened. I would also like to read a list of companies that firefox, mozilla, and third party contractors have sold or exchanged data with in the past to the extent that it is permissible under current NDA and laws that firefox, mozilla, and third part contractors are subject to.
