Hi, I noticed that the new release of the Android Firefox browser doesn't support printing (and therefore save to pdf) anymore. Is it a known issue or is there anything that I am missing?

This is not a solution . It is a lame excuse!! Why do you break some it which works fine

and MAY want to try it LATER?

It is ridiculous and appalling that this functionality was removed without explanation or justification. This is a shame. Open source development shouldn't function in this way. This is a sleazy move.

Note the wording "may be included in a future release." Means to me that it may not ever be reinstated. See 'ya, nothing of interest here.

I also miss this feature, but would rather not go back to Chrome. I truly appreciate the fact that there are alternatives. Is there a way I could help bring printing back to Firefox for Android ? I am a developer, but have not experience with Firefox or other Mozilla developments.

Ok, I gotta get my nickels worth in about 80.0.1 1. YES, Why the heck did you remove "Print to PDF"? I deal with a LOT of resources that do not print properly due to their formatting. "Print to PDF" is CRITICAL TO ME, so WHY did you remove such a valuable feature? "It's not currently supported but may be added in the future", REALLY, REALLY??? There's no blessed add-on, so would you please PUT IT BACK IN! 2. What's with the FireFox front-end? WHY did you remove the ability to set our default Homepage? I've been using Duckduckgo for as long as it's been in existence, But soooooooo, You don't want us to do that? Is Mozilla now telling us what we can and can't do? 3. I have yet to find an answer to "What happened to What happened to "about:config" in FireFox 80.0.1 for Android? Error message "Cannot complete Request, Try Again". Thank you for all your work on FireFox But PLEASE take our concerns a tad more seriously. I'm a Paraplegic Veteran that uses FireFox exclusively, Win/Linux/Android, and almost every platform you support (and then some more). I could've posted the 13+ issues I have with this version but the above are my Immediate needs. B.D.

I'm using an Android based tablet. To 'print to PDF when the file is loaded in Firefox, select the 3 dots arranged vertically in the Tool Bar. At the top of the dropdown menu, select the Transfer icon. On the menu provided, locate the Print Service Icon, and select it. My Samsung Print Service offers a PDF alternative.

Whomever decided that this reply was the, "solution" should probably look for other work.

Explaining that the glaring error in the Firefox browser is a known, intentional issue is not a solution; it's an excuse.

Please explain yourselves and give us an actual answer to the following questions:

Why was the necessary and very basic Print function removed?

In what revision will the Print feature be put back into the browser?

Except for "whomever" which s/b "whoever," I completely agree. Bring back pdf's and printing.

Hoy, hoy hoy, if all goes well it may also be said. after a firefox update to 83.0 (64-bit), I was delighted to see that the "print to pdf" function has been added back. Congratulations to the Mozilla programmers and thanks for adding the opportunity back after many users' lamentations. Thanks again.

Oops, my enthusiasm related to how firefox works on my laptop. The upgrade, 83.1.0, which I am using on my android tablet, still has to do without print to pdf capability. The complaints and annoyances formulated here apparently do not get through to the mozilla developer. Could the developers have a lack of time, or should the "print to pdf" function be called even harder here.

Yes fordje3, I too greatly miss the "print to pdf" feature. And yes, the developers do not seem to notice the users. One day the program works as usual. The next day, nothing is the same because the developers made "improvements." So, I have found a work-around that is not perfect, but is workable. I found an Android app called "Web to PDF converter Pro." After installing the app on my tablet, I can use the Share button to access this app and make a pdf of the web page. It does take some learning, that is, figuring which two or three keys to use to make the pdf. But it works. From an abandoned user.

What kind of ignorant "busy IT professional" type of a response is that!? If this essential functionality is not ready that means the release is not ready!! Get a grip Mozilla Team, taking functionality away in favour of "slicker look" is Apple bullshit (and we want to stay away from it!) Keep up the good work, but don't give us this shit, please. Fingers crossed. Mozilla FTW!!

I can't believe that after 6 months Mozilla hasn't managed to fix the print to pdf issue. One of the mostly used features! It seems they aren't taking us users for serious?! Downloads from media libraries don't work as well. In the last months I have to use Chrome nearly every day because there all these features work properly. How can one destroy a formerly brilliant software in that way Mozilla did? I can't understand!!! For many years I have been donating to Mozilla every year. This year I won't.

It's been years I've been using Firefox on mobile and even earlier on desktop.

And I've been donating to Mozilla Foundation on a regular basis.

I do not deserve what is being done lately to Firefox for Android.

  • Do not remove what was useful!
  • Do not replace what people got used to!
  • Poor UX/UI choices make customers unhappy.

The choice to no longer offer convert to PDF is serious enough for me to consider abandoning Firefox mobile. Please reconsider.

I feel the same way. The Firefox developers apparently lost touch with the users. They actually do not have customers to satisfy, other than advertisers. Mozilla Foundation no longer financially supports Firefox, as I understand from a response that Mozilla Foundation made to my response for their request for money. Apart from all this, Firefox with its account and cross platform capability is useful. So, I have found a work-around that is not perfect, but is workable. I'm astonished that you expect us to stick with Firefox and not have this essential functionality restored.
