Mozilla VPN on iPad mini 2 stuck in “Get Started” sign-in loop

Using latest iOS 12.4.8, I tap “Get Started” which prompts me to sign in. I do and then I see the generic Mozilla VPN website, with prompts to “Try Mozilla VPN Now!” I find this strange since I am already a member and have successfully signed-in to my account on my iPhone and my PC. At the top right of the page I see a button to “Sign In” again. I try that and am brought to the same page. I try tapping the “Try Now” button instead, and yet again I am brought back to the same page, never actually getting to the usable app interface. If I press “Done” in the top left corner (the button that leaves the native browser and is not a part of the website) I am brought back to the start screen of the app with the same “Get Started” and “Learn More” buttons.

Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it is still stuck in the same loop.
