I upgraded my phone from the Samsung Galaxy S7 to the S10e.

I have my desktop and laptop set up to sync Firefox and both are running the most current versions.

My s7 also was set to sync and was working just fine.

I downloaded the most version of Firefox for Android on to the S10e. I've been successful at connecting the device to my account (it shows in the list of devices).

However, it is unwilling to actually synchronize. When I go to accounts, it says "sync: never" and the categories to be synced are grayed out (bookmarks, history, etc).

I've uninstalled/reinstalled, I've restarted the device, I've clicked sync in the laptop version.

I don't know what else I am missing?

Firefox Browser 68.8.1 on the S10e Firefox 76.0.1 on the Apple MacBook Pro (I don't know the version on my PC desktop, but pretty sure it's up to date)

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Hi

I understand that Firefox Sync did not connect to your mobile device on this occasion, but hopefully I should be able to help you force a Sync event to take place.

Assuming you have connected the same Sync account on both your mobile and desktop copies of Firefox:

In Firefox on your mobile device:

  1. Go into the Settings menu and select Firefox Account.
  2. Tap on Synchronise now.

This will “force” a synchronisation of the data that is on the local device storage.

I have the same problem on S10+, but the method above didn't work for me. I'm trying let behind me the Chrome, but i can´t.

I have the same problem. It says the devices are connected, but nothing is syncing. I've tried forcing it on both ends multiple times, logging in and out, unsyncing and resyncing multiple times--all to no avail.

When I open the Account Settings page on my phone, at the top, under Sync now, it says "Never synced". When I then try to sync it says "Last synced: Dec 31, 1969" and nothing has changed. On my laptop it says it has synced--though it apparently hasn't--and on both devices I can choose what to sync.

This has been going on for at least a few days--probably more. I believe since the newest large update, which explains it, because updates always screw something up. Large or small, something always goes wrong. But THIS. This is unexcusable. I rely on the sync far more than I realized, before now, and if it continues to fail I may be forced to return to using Chrome, simply because syncing is so unavoidably vital to my usage of the internet.

80.0.1 on my laptop (the newest one) and 79.0.5 on my phone (also the newest.)

Agitated and anxious, Kitty
