troubles with video players
Hi there, well I'm a old user of firefox and I really like the browser, so every time that I find some issue in both: desktop and android mozilla browser, I'm trying to help the community sending some feedback. This time, I want to tell you something: I usually like to play some anime videos on pages like: "www.animeid.tv" or "www.animeflv.net" and both of them have their own mobile version for smartphones and tablets, but when I'm trying to watch some video with mozilla android I get some troubles with the video players and most of the times I'm not able to play any video ( I always try with all the video alternatives offered by the sites and I got the same), I compare it with chrome android and for my surprise I'm able to watch the videos normally. I have tried differents things like: - Uninstalling and Installing again Mozilla on my smartphone ( It does not work) - Cleaning the history's browser ( It does not work too) - Checking this issue on a different device ( I got the same problem)
So, I would really appreciate if you could help me with this soon as possible.
Thanks

Hi Kristian Roa C.
We need more troubleshooting details to help you:
- What Android phone or tablet are you using? What version of Android OS (4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 4.1-3 jelly bean, 4.4 kitkat or 5.0 lollipop etc)
- I was able to play the videos using the Flash player and DailyMotion at: http://www.animeid.tv/ver/binan-koukou-chikyuu-bouei-bu-love-10 This site has a lot of bad advertisements. Could you please provide the URL of the videos that don't work.
Cheers!

Hi there, ty for the answer, well in my case: 1.- I have 4.4 kitkat on my htc one m7. 2.- I have a doubt if Mozilla by default has installed flash player or not. And in the negative case: where can I get the apk?. For ww.animeid.tv there are 3 options and this are their own problems :
- For "DailyMotion" I'm not able to put the video on fullscreen( the button for the fullscreen does not work)
- For "ios" the video looks very small in the left corner and the buttons are all together (I can not press none of them)
- For "videobam" the video looks fine (but the video takes so much time to load and I have a good wifi network)
Hi Kristian Roa C.
Thanks for replying!
Just tried all 3 options again (last time was on a Samsung S5) for www.animeid.tv on my HTC One M7 running Android Kitkat 5 & Firefox 36.0.1 and I see the same behaviour as you described
- For DailyMotion I think this could be a bug in Firefox or more likely a bug in the way the video player was coded by the animeid web developers since DailyMotion.com videos work fine in fullscreen if you watch them from dailymotion.com
- For ios: this is of course coded for iOS (which uses the same browser engine as Chrome) so I am not surprised it doesn't work
- For Videobam - I have no idea why it takes so long to load. Might be a bug in Videobam or again the way the web developers have coded it.
- "I compare it with chrome android and for my surprise I'm able to watch the videos normally" - This is unfortunately not a surprise; this happens a lot because many mobile sites are coded by web developers to only work on Safari and Chrome and in doing so are not compatible with webstandards (we call this "webcompat"). I would suggest that you file a support request with animeid.tv to fix their coding and also that you file a webcompat issue at https://webcompat.com/
- "I have a doubt if Mozilla by default has installed flash player or not. And in the negative case: where can I get the apk?." - You are right, Mozilla doesn't install flash by default. Please install the flash player by following our instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-watch-flash-videos-firefox-android and here: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installing-flash-player-android-devices.html
Sorry that I can't give you a definitive solution but hopefully the above will help a wee bit.
Cheers!
