Ok so firefox OS 1.3 seems fuckin' awesome and now I waana install it on my shit phone which runs on a 600Mhz processor, 128 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM, android 2.2.2 and a CDMA sim card and has a screen resolution of 240x320.

I could follow the "building and installing firefox OS" wiki but things are tripping me up..

- There are very few devices listed in Supported Devices list and this ZTE, obviously, is not one of them. - On one side, somewhere they said firefox OS can run on devices running on Android 2.2 or newer and then I saw this "Only devices running at least Android 4 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich) are supported." on the build prerequisites page :/ (They don't install Android 4 before installing FFOS on the devices right?) - My phone is CDMA :/ and is locked to MTS India right now but I guess flashing it will jailbreak the lock :/ but is CDMA supported? - Even lower specs than the $25 smartphone. Haha Fuck. - Not sure if I can build it on windows 'cause I don't use Ubuntu (Dual booted Windows and Arch linux) - Not sure if firefox OS will be able to detect all my hardwares. :/ - Can I blindly follow the steps in the wiki and copy-paste all the codes as it is in CMD/Terminal? - I've never flashed a phone before.

Hehe Too much confusion and I don't even know If the effort is worth it or not. and yea, I waana do it on this phone because I just wanna get the heck out of firefox OS and not planning to buy a new phone right now(Waiting for Ubuntu phones). So, You guys, help me out.!

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Yash Yadav,

Unfortunately, the short answer is that there is no easy way to port Firefox OS to your device.

Even if you were able to port Firefox OS, it's unlikely that it would work well, and there is a high risk of bricking the device.

As you mention, your phone seems to have lower specs than the Tarako device, which will be running Firefox OS v1.3T. That version of the OS had to be extremely optimized to be able to run with these specific low hardware specifications, and it's likely that those optimizations may not work well on your hardware.

I'm sorry I couldn't give you a better answer, but I hope you find this information helpful. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

- Ralph
