Recently the reels in my Facebook newsfeed will be black and not play when clicked on. All workarounds have been tried. These included , Restart machine ( laptop Dell Lattitude E 5530)( I know, ancient. Windows 10) go to settings in Firefox, Privacy and Security then clear cookies and cache. This works, the reels play, until I visit another website, then the issue is back. Simply going to Settings and clearing does not work. The entire flow has to be redone. I had my Internet Security remote control and invesigate. Same thing. We uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled to no avail. Is there any fix for this? Thanks. Hi there! It started yesterday. I keep getting warning messages from Bitdefender that a connection Firefox was trying to establish was blocked. I will include a screenshot of the warning. I searched the link included in the warning and it comes up as a Firefox related link. I had six or seven of these warnings within the last 3 hours of using the computer and am concerned and irritated. Firefox is updated automatically on this computer and I think the last major change would have been the "cookie jar" thing(?). Obviously, the warning only says that the a certificate has expired. Thank you in advance for your help. Yours sincerely,R.

places.sqlite: this file records EVERY website I've ever visited in a db table! This despite opting out of History and flushing daily It's frustrating that FF surreptiously collects such personal info. Why record every site I visit, date-timestamps, frequency, etc.?

moz_historyvisits_dateindex ON moz_historyvisits (visit_date) moz_places_lastvisitdateindex

As test, I changed the name to places-sqlite.old to see if FF will create a new one It didn't make a new table; re-created the old one.

I need to update FF because of the expired certificates, but would like to clear these out first. Similarly, can I get rid of the icon database? My bookmarks are backed up as JSON and HTML files. I just wished they didn't contain extraneous info

I like to prune my browser history manually to keep things I might need to get back to in the near future, but don't want to clog up my bookmarks with, and get rid of the rest. As of version 133, this has been made a lot more difficult, unless I'm missing an option somewhere. - In Settings, there's only the "all or nothing" approach for browser history, no way to be selective. (You can be selective when deleting cookies, but not history.) - In the History sidebar, where I used to do this, you can group by date or site. I used both: Group by site to avoid deleting the recent stuff I want to keep, and group by date to delete old things I no longer need (anything over a week old). It's no longer possible to delete e.g. everything from the gmail domain, or everything from October. I have to delete each. and. every. site. individually. For Gmail, for example, this means roughly a gajillion lines per visit. - In the sidebar, the keyboard Delete button no longer works either. I have to manually click the trash can icon, wait for it to vanish, click the next one...

Is the option to edit this efficiently completely gone, or am I missing something?

Hi, I want a website (Protonmail, my email client) to store persistent data. I have enabled it, but I also have all my browser security settings on Strict (also clearing browse data and cookies on each closing of the browser), so now when I have downloaded the data and I close and reopen my browser: it's all gone. I tried looking at making Protonmail an Exception, but that's only possible in relation to Tracking Protection. How to fix this?

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards,

Hello,

My password saved are deleted every time I close FF. It used to be manageable because Google and other sites didn't require me to fill my passwords (cookies did the trick I suppose) but now I also loose access to gmail and Youtube every time I close FF. It's annoying to have to use 2FA every damn time. And keeping the passwords available.

I've tried every answer I found by looking around :

- tried to start in safe mode - disable hardware acceleration - I have no extensions

FF saves the passwords correctly (at least they appear in the saved password tab) but they are erased every time I restart FF. The cookies aren't automatically deleted (FF remembers my browsing history) but I need to relog into Google.

I getting frustrated.
