Where do I type in a web address to go directly to a site bypassing the search feature?

My Firefox tool bar only has one place to enter search information. If I have an actual website address and enter it in the search box, it doesn't go to the site and doesn't bring up any search results connecting to the web address I entered. If I pull up and enter it in a Google search, the same thing happens. The email browser that I use allows me to enter web addresses but is not as safe and fast as Firefox. I DO NOT USE Internet Explorer period. I only want to use Firefox. Where do I enter a web address?
