I'm converting from outlook and I'm wondering how to jump to a particular letter in the alphabet with scrolling to get to it when the emails from sorted by alphabetical order. In outlook you just click on the alphabet on your keyboard and it takes you right to the beginning of the emails starting with that letter. Just curious if thunderbird does this or if there is an add-on or shortcut to get there. Thanks.

I don't think this would work in the Threads Pane, as several keys are reserved for actions, A for archive and M to mark read/unread. There is an add-on that performs a similar role for navigating the Folder Pane:

Thanks for your reply. I can not find the "quick folder key navigation" in add-ons in thunderbird. I can see how to download it from the website but I don't know how to get it into thunderbird. Can you help with this? Sorry I'm new to thunderbird and the only way I found to do an add-on is if it is listed in the thunderbird app. Thanks for this and I'll try it if I can figure out how to link the download to thunderbird.

Open the TB Add-on Manager, click the gear icon next to Search, 'Install add-on from file', select the downloaded xpi.
