Sorry for your loss! Firefox creates regular backups in a compressed format in your profile folder. It's under a hidden path, so to drill down into the old folders, with your hard drive attached to a running PC, you'll first need to turn on viewing of hidden files and folders:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files

Next, find the most recent file in the bookmarkbackups subfolder of your profile. This article will help you find it: Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

In order to use that file with Sync, you'll need to set up Firefox on a desktop PC and restore that backup. This article has the steps for getting to the Restore menu: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer (use Choose file... and point Firefox to the backup file you want to use).

Then finally you can get them over to your Android device using Sync. I know it's roundabout, but Firefox for Android doesn't have a way to import bookmarks directly from a file.
