I killed my PC during an unwanted Firefox upgrade and had to reinstall my old FF version (35.01) now my bookmarks are gone. I tried to restore them from the json file, no luck and no error messages. I tried restoring from a recent bookmarks export, same result. I followed the steps to check for localstore.rdf, I tried Safemode refresh, I have only one profile, I tried the Dom.enable in about:config, I looked for the xul file that replaces localstore, I deleted and reinstalled several times, nothing works. I forensically deleted all traces of FF from my machine and rebooted, then did a fresh install... same results. I tried Sync and it acts like it wants to run ... it sent my adblocker add-on okay so that's encouraging, but it will not send my bookmarks. I really prefer FF to any other browser but this is ridiculous. It can't be this hard to get some fricken bookmarks to come back. Does anyone have any other ideas? I'm ready to go to (gag) Chrome next. Thanks!
