[I am starting a new post because I was replying to someone else's post and it stopped working.]

After updating to TB v.140.0esr (then just now updating to v.140.0.1esr) from v.128esr, I cannot compose a new message in any Local Folders or my main virtual inbox. The +New Message button is there, but clicking it does nothing. It was working for over a decade before this.

However, going into the normal account folder inboxes DOES allow me to click the "+New Message" button and start/compose a new message.

I can still reply to messages in the local and virtual folders, just not start a new message.

I have tried disabling all security software. No luck.

I have ran Help > Troubleshoot mode with no addons. No luck.

When I create a new folder under Local Folders, clicking New Message still does nothing while in that new folder. But if I move that new folder to an existing email account, then go to the new folder, clicking New Message works correctly.

I am on Windows 10. I did use the addon Manually Sort Folders in the past, but not recently.

I ran the Check Error Console (ctrl+shift+J) on TB v.140.0esr. Here is the paste:

I've been using Thunderbird for decades. I have Thunderbird set to automatically download messages every 5 minutes. Platform: Computer Win11 Home, Thunderbird 128.10.0esr (64-bit), POP3 connection (also with IMAP connection on a MacOS computer.

But a new issue is now occurring. Every so often now, I realize I haven't received any new email downloads in some time. I click on the Get Messages button (or right-click and select items individually), but nothing happens - no "Host Contacted..." message in the Status Bar. It's like the Get Messages function is completely disabled. It is only when I quit then restart Thunderbird does it successfully establish a connection and download the many queued emails.

Please let me know if this is a known bug, or if there is a way to submit this as a bug. Also let me know of any other information you would need in order to help debug this issue. Thanks!

After every update, Firefox starts to a blank screen and will not start loading the webpage url put in for over twenty minutes to a half hour. During this time other browsers on my Win 10 PC load immediately so it is not a network issue. It is Firefox. When I see that an update is pending I hesitate to do the update because I know I will lose the use of Firefox until it is ready to respond. It just hangs with "loading X.com" showing at the bottom left of the blank screen. I have been using Firefox for a long time and in the past year or longer it has become very unreliable. There are also instances where without an update it will do this and the only way I can get it to work is to clear the cache and the history through settings. What is going on with Firefox! (And lately there is an update every couple fo days!

when i oppened tbird on windows 10, it showed a page to obly my for a donation. i had made a donation short ago, but eventhough, i just made another one time donation. when i open tbird again, i can not get out of the donation page. what should i do please???????

I'm Ajay Hinduja from Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss). The update I installed three weeks ago has drastically reduced performance—everything is running about 80% slower. Every page load or tab switch now takes around 10 seconds.

Is this a known issue, and is there a fix planned? I’ve been a loyal Firefox user for 20 years, but if this continues, I may have to switch browsers.

Every time i load a page i have to quickly click on the link. If i don't it will not load. Every website that has a drop down menu wont allow me to click. In order to click anything i have to refresh the page and click the link before it fully loads or else it just wont register. And it wont register across the entire page. Can't open in a different tab, cant do anything.

Doesn't happen with anything other than your browser.

I want to keep using your browser but its becoming incredibly annoying and i often have to jst say "fuck Firefox" copy the link to any other browser and it works perfectly.

I find the use of validation tests (captchas) with images abusive. One may have to click on those pictures for 10 minutes before he can open a bookmark. this is showing more interest for bots than for persons. As a result I avoid using Firefox as much as possible, and turn to other bowsers that will met you get what you want. why don't invent another system?

If I need to upload a file I click on the OPEN or BROWSE button in the website, Open File dialogue opens trying to list the location it is already looking at, and it hangs for over 30 seconds before listing files. This is windows 11, but it did it when i had windows 10 too. I dont know what to do.

When using any Microsoft 365 product on the browser I keep getting a prompt to "Please sign in" although I am already signed in. I can click the Sign in button and a about:blank page pops up for a split second. Then within a half hour or so, it will pop up again. I deleted my cookies but the problem still persists. Does not happen on other browsers.

Firefox stopped working on my computer. Every time I try to open it I get an error message that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I tried to uninstall and reinstall with no success. Our IT dept tried as well and nothing we have tried has resolved the issue. Thank you for your help.

For some time I cannot access any more Gmail messages from my Thunderbird.

When cancelling my email address in Thunderbird and trying to reopen it as new address, I'm getting the message "registration on the server failed".

Then I tried to open my email address on the laptop of my wife in her Thunderbird: there it works perfectly.

In addition I tried to open her email address on my Thunderbird: I'm getting the same message "registration on the server failed".

We have both Thunderbird 128.12

I'm working with Windows 11.

She is still on Windows 10.

Any ideas?

Am getting this message along with a recurring download of a specific email (keeps coming back even after deletion) that does not allow any other new messages to be downloaded. I do see new emails on my phone but will not read into Thunderbird??

Error: "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."

Tried: Troubleshooting, closing Thunberbird and reopening, rebooting windows system, compacting, etc. to no avail....

I have no idea who is going to read this, but I was in my Cell Phone companies’ site today and got an error message that Firefox would not show the bill details. Some stupid thing about other web sites and sealing my information. I needed that page and could not see so I had to use another browser (not Chrome or Edge) to get the bill to display.

I then had a coupon to print from an e-mail from my Pharmacy. Again you gave an error message but did download the coupon to where I save things.

I do not want to use Chrome or Edge as they track the S**t out of you. I have another that is laid out like Chrome but supposedly isn’t and I use that. I have to pay for that one. The main thing these browsers don’t have is the Menu Bar at the top and you cannot put it on. I use that to free up screen space that is lost the way they do things.

Can you PLEASE get things right in Firefox so I don’t have to waste my time or worse have to use this other browser I hate.

Ever since the most recent firefox update, my screensaver doesn't appear after laptop has been idle. According to the Mac Activity monitor, Firefox is blocking it. I've tried quitting Firefox and restarting, and also restarting laptop, but no solution.

Nous avons désinstallé puis réinstallé Thunderbird. Puis, nous avons tenté d'ajouter le compte (avec protocole IMAP 993 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal et 465 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal). Hello, Thunderbird has interrupted the connection to a friend's Orange email account. The email address and password are correct (they allow access to the account online). Thunderbird kept asking for the ‘new password’ and constantly rejected it. We first tried deleting and then adding the account. That didn't work. We uninstalled and then reinstalled Thunderbird. Then we tried adding the account (with IMAP 993 SSL/TSL normal password and 465 SSL/TSL normal password). That didn't work. We restarted the computer each time. What can or should we do?  Only in Firefox on my windows 10 pro pc do I have to keep on signing into Homedepot.com with a security code?
 So I looked up the problem and one of the solutions (I tried a few) is to clear the old chache and cookies?
 Trying to do this.... get link after link after link.....after link.

How do you do it?

  Wish I can upload something... but can't upload what you can't find?

I am trying to use Firefox and when I click on the Icon nothing happens. I run it as Administrator and the browser open but I can not load any web pages. The only web browser that works is Duck Duck Go. Google Chrome does not work either.
