Hello, I was clicking random stuff and i accidentally turned off "Show notifications" in the syncronization thing

and now i can't turn it back on because to access that noticication setting i need the push noticication to send me there, but, you know.... I turned it off and i can't find any other way to access it. In the app settings from my phone's settings it only shows notification setting for any notification, not specific ones.

What do i do now? Please don't tell me i need to re- install it

When I access my email on my computer using Thunderbird, I have it set to downloaded the emails locally and remove from the server. Starting today, WHEN I access my email using Thunderbird in my phone, all the messages are still there, and I have to manually delete them, and they still stay on my computer email app. I need Thunderbird on Android to start removing them again once I clear the server.

Hello Since I changed my TB Android incoming server setting from POP to IMAP, Android has repeatedly reported app crashes. It asked me to clear cache, which I tried. See img attached. Eventually it said it was putting the app into deep sleep. Yesterday, after I sent an email to a gmail acct I was unable to find a copy of the email in a sent folder, there wasn't any Sent folder. There were only 2 folders, Inbox & Outbox. I expected there to be Sent & Draft folders. Eventually I discovered via Manage folders an Inbox.sent & Inbox.drafts. So I tried to change folders so Sent & Drafts are at the same level as Inbox & Outbox. Yesterday there were approx 26 emails in the Inbox. This morning there are 3 new emails in the Inbox & the 26 emails have disappeared & Inbox.sent, Inbox.drafts have disappeared. The 3rd & 4th attachments show the current folder settings. My TB Desktop incoming server swrting is POP. Please tell me what I am doing wrong & what I must do to be able to see all my emails, received & sent. Thank you

Hello I'm a longtime user and regular supporter of Thunderbird for Desktop. I have installed Thunderbird for Android on my smartphone. I have exported my settings from Thunderbird for Desktop & imported the QR code in Thunderbird for Android. Thunderbird for Desktop asks for a password. Why doesn't Thunderbird for Android ask for a password ? What am I doing wrong ?

Why can't I see my emails in Thunderbird for Andoid ? 

Now when I try to Get Messages in Thunderbird fo Desktop the following message is displayed : "The certificate for mail.first-rate.info is not valid for that server. Someone could bee trying to impersonate the server and you should not continue." So now I can't see my emails on Thunderbird for Desktop. What do I have to do to be able to see my emails ?

I am writing to report a privacy concern and request a feature that would allow users to hide their real IP address when sending emails through SMTP.

When I send an email using Thunderbird with a standard SMTP account (e.g., QQ Mail, Gmail, Outlook), the receiving mail server adds a `Received` header that contains my real public IP address. For example:

```text Received: from ehlo.thunderbird.net ([2409:8a20:1843:3590:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:cde2]) by newxmesmtplogicsvrszc50-0.qq.com (NewEsmtp) with SMTP id B2A37C97; Fri, 25 Sep 2026 12:44:42 +0800 ```

In this case, `[2409:8a20:1843:3590:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:cde2]` is my real public IPv6 address. Any recipient who views the full email headers can see my IP address and infer my network location and ISP. This is a significant privacy leak, especially for users who need to protect their identity or location.

Currently, Thunderbird does not provide an easy way to prevent this. Even if I change the `EHLO` argument, the receiving server still records the IP address of my connection. The only practical workaround is to manually set up a proxy or a mail relay outside the client, which is not user-friendly.

I would like to request the following:

1. Built-in proxy support – Allow users to send SMTP traffic through a SOCKS or HTTP proxy, so the receiving server sees the proxy’s IP instead of the user’s real IP. 2. Relay/anonymization option – Provide a simple way to configure an external SMTP relay that strips or replaces the original `Received` headers before forwarding. 3. Documentation or guidance – If a full feature is not feasible, at least provide official documentation on how to hide the sender’s IP using existing tools (e.g., Tor, VPN, or a custom relay). 4. Privacy setting – Consider adding a privacy option that warns users when their real IP will be exposed in outgoing SMTP headers.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Configure Thunderbird with a standard SMTP account (e.g., QQ Mail). 2. Send an email to any recipient. 3. Ask the recipient to view the full email headers. 4. Observe the `Received` header containing your real public IP address.

Expected behavior:

The client should offer a way to anonymize the sender’s IP address when sending via SMTP, either through a built-in proxy setting or by supporting an external relay that can strip identifying headers.

Actual behavior:

The client sends the email directly from the user’s device, and the receiving server records the real IP address in the `Received` header, which is then visible to all recipients.

I understand that SMTP servers often log source IPs for anti-spam purposes, and that the client cannot control what the server adds. However, by providing proxy or relay support, the client can give users a choice to protect their privacy.

Thank you for considering this request. I believe many privacy-conscious users would benefit from such a feature.

I have K9-mail on Android. Since 1 or 2 weeks my shared inbox is sorted wrong. I have two accounts configured and in each a couple of e-mails each days. When I step into K9-mail the shared inbox shows some actual mails and then their is a gap in time and the next e-mails are from April. If I am looking into the inboxes of each account, it seems to be correct.

Is their a sorting bug in the shared inbox?

Running Android Thunderbird version 23.0. When I look at a message screen, I see an hex shaped icon with an "!" symbol at the top message header. What is the function?

I have a Gmail account. I use a Duck Duck email address as my main email & forward to my Gmail. Can.i assume Thunderbird will download all Duck Duck emails as long as they're forwarded to the Gmail account?

I've got a new phone after the last one went missing. I tried to put my usual Virgin Media email onto Thunderbird and get 'authentication failed' I've checked the server name, port and connection security match those on my desktop. Grateful for suggestions thanks

I’m trying to import my email accounts from Thunderbird on Linux into Thunderbird for Android 23.0. On my Google Pixel, tapping “Scan QR code” briefly highlights the button, but nothing else happens. The camera view never opens and no error appears.

Camera permission is granted. Thunderbird is up to date, and force-stopping and restarting the app did not help. Has anyone encountered this or found a workaround?

I do all my email on my computer but I do have Tbird on my cellphone too, just in case I have to send something. But I never download. So I was in a situation where a government process included 'check your email' and I had only my cellphone with me. So I started downloading: 25 more, 25 more, 25 more ... and a hundred presses latter it's still not finished. Is there some way to reset that? I'm back with my computer and my email seem fine, but the cellphone remains stuck.

Hey, I changed the fetching mail settings multiple times cause I wanted to fetch more mails than previous. But this lead to nothing... It does not lead to the download of older Mails. Even in the case of local folder size: all Messages and sync messages: from last 6 months no Mails older than some days appear. My Thunderbird-Mobile version is 23.0, the problem was also apparent before the update in version 22.0. My operating system is Android 15

I have been trying to set up Thunderbird Mobile on my Android phone. I scanned the QR code to export my settings. However, when I open the app on my phone, the only options I have are "Add an email account", or "Sign in with Thundermail". The instructions state that clicking on "Get Started" should bring up the option to "Import Settings" but it does not.

I should also add, when I try to put in the settings (which I know are correct, same as what I have in Thunderbird Desktop), it comes up with "Checking incoming server settings failed Network error Details: Unable to resolve host "twc.mail.com": No address associated with hostname. I positively know that is correct.

I am aware that Spectrum has had problems. However, it works fine with Thunderbird Desktop.

all other apps etc EXCEPT focus. with everything I try to ope eg mail etc, the useless program takes me continuous loops to log in. I go through the verification system multiple times and then it doesnt accept fingerprints and locks me out. this program is unusable and useless so I'm going to remove it.

1. I want Thunderbird to automatically erase all but the most recent 250 on my phone as it downloads new ones from my server. As it does so, I do not want the downloaded messages marked as "read" on my server, nor do I want messages erased on my phone to be deleted from my server. (That is all to be taken care of by my desktop email program.)

At present, Thunderbird downloads all the incoming messages and leaves them on, so I quickly find I have 1000+ messages stored on my phone. This eventually slows it's performance notably. I have to manually erase the messages, and then empty the trash, in order to circumvent this problem.

Also, when my desktop downloads the email, many of them are now marked read, even though I haven't read them. I am wondering if Thunderbird for Android isn't marking some or all emails as read on my server as it downloads them to my phone?
