Hi, somehow thunderbird forced me to use OAuth for caldav and carddav. (v140 on linux) Unless I've probably missed something this approach doesn't seem to have considered that people might use more than one device. In the past I had an application password per device with my mail provider. That password covered imap, smtp, caldav and carddav. The application password I could set with a specific name at my mail provider. If the device was lost, compromised or whatever I just deleted that one application password at my mail provider, problem solved.

Now a regular thunderbird setup has the application password for mail and 2 OAuth records per device under "Connected Apps" at my mail provider. But it is not possible to see anymore to which device the OAuth record belong, as there is nothing device specific coming along with these OAuth records, just an IP.

With that perspective OAuth weakened my security options, as I can only guess which OAuth record I have to delete in an emergency case. Did anyone who implemented that with Thunderbird considered that people may have more than 1 device? Maybe even more than 5 devices?

That OAuth approach looks unmanagable to me. Is there a way to switch OAuth off in thunderbird, until it becomes more useable in >1 device setups?

Prior to TB 148, OAUTH worked for POP3 access to: Gmail, MS Outlook, and Yahoo.

After TB 148 upgrade: OAUTH to Yahoo fails, subsequent log-in page also fails. Both OAUTH to Gmail and OAUTH to MS Outlook still work fine.

Rolled-back/Reverted to TB 147.0.2 -- OAUTH to all works fine, as it did previously.

Note: YahooMail seems to have other problems. But I was able to confirm successful OAUTH and POP3 to YahooMail after reversion to 147.0.2.

I configured a series of "Filters" on my account inbox (imap), that move certain messages into specific (sub)folders. E.g. "To: certain@address.de" , filter applied when fetching messages "before junk detection" (German UI: "Filter anwenden bei: Nachrichtenabruf").

The filter seems to just silently fail and do nothing, since I also use my Android K9-Thunderbird app (imap) on the go.

How can I get my Thunderbird desktop filter to work again, even when imap fetching/accessing new messages with the phone?

I've moved last week from Microsoft Outlook from Mozilla Thunderbird on my MacBook Pro laptop for managing my e-mail accounts.

I've added an Outlook account (e-mail xxx@hotmail.com) to Thunderbird. However after using Thunderbird a few days I've discovered that some sub-folders in my private folders are missing.

I've added in attachment an image showing my folders on my mobile phone (using Microsoft Outlook) and an image showing my folders on my laptop (using Thunderbird where both 'Bureau' and 'Instruments & Lumières' are missing).

Hello I use Thunderbird on Android before, and now how can I synchronize data on Thunderbird for Windows?

BTW, the reason why I need to do this is, recently I found the Android terminal just did not show new mails even if I refresh it manually. I also need this help though.

I attached a 9 mb html file to an email and sent it. In sending it was broken up into 10 different emails.. In receiving it, I found 10 emails and don't know what to do with them. I selected all 10, and there appeared a window with the word "archive" . Which I clicked and now all 10 email are in a subfolder named Archives.. I still don't know what to do with them in order to join them together into the original readable file.

Would appreciate some suggestions...

I newly installed Thunderbird 148 on a Windows 11 laptop (after uninstalling a previous installation under a different user). I connected to a Yahoo Mail account and downloaded all the emails from the Yahoo inbox.

Emails with attachments (.pdf and .docx) visible online in Yahoo Mail do not include these attachments when downloaded to Thunderbird.

I access Thunderbird through AOL. I have a completely separate yahoo email account which I do not access with Thunderbird. Do I need to do anything with respect to the new "authorization protocol known as OAuth2 with PKCE"?

Since the 26th of Feb. my thunderbird stopped downloading emails from any of my GMail accounts. I've accessed the email and i have a bunch of new emails there but for some reason they are not transferred to thunderbird anymore. I'm think i've installed a new thunderbird version around that time but im not really sure if that was the cause.

Also, no error message appears. it just says no new emails.

Already cleared the login details and logged again, still same issue. I'm using pop connection.

I received an email with 7 attachments. 2 of the attachments had similar filenames (not identical). When I selected "Save All" the 2 similar filenames were not saved. See screenshots for details

So here is the issue, I understand the security has been changed to OAuth2, and both the inbound and outbound settings are such. But Thunderbird wants me to log in, OKAY, it will send me the screen with my email account, but will not change after clicking "Next" to allow me to enter the password, regardless of how long I wait. If I click a second time I get the message " Edge: Too many requests"

What needs to be done?

I am trying to enter my Thunderbird account to review my emails, however, everytime I click on the Thunder bird icon nothing happens. Please help me to regain my ability to open Thunderbird. I am falling wat behind in my work.

Because gmail is removing support for "Check mail from other accounts", I'm thinking of switching to Thunderbird. The current size of my 18-yo gmail account is 62GB. But gmail is in the cloud, and profiles are on the device. Assuming Thunderbird profiles would have a similar size, this would be a nibble on my desktop, reasonable on my 1TB laptop, but half my total storage on my android Pixel 7. Can I limit my mobile's profile to the previous year or two of email? Are there other solutions? Thanks.

I received an IMAP email as normal, from an email address that I often write with. What I always do: the IMAP inbox is forwarded move on arrival to the local inbox. It had an attachment, and I downloaded that as normal. Then after 5 minutes I wanted to start work on the reply to the message in the local inbox and ... the message was gone. Nowhere to be found. Not in the IMAP inbox (of course), not in junk, not in trash. I looked in the on-line IMAP account, and there the message was present as normal.

Then I searched for the email and there it shows: in "Inbox". And I see one strange thing that I never saw: column Message threads says: "This subthread is ignored". So that is the problem. Probably I hit accidentally some key (k ?) and this caused the "kill".

Now how to un-ignore it? There is this Help page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/ignore-threads and it says: "To un-ignore a thread that has been marked ignored, select a message in the thread, right-click on it and again select Ignore Thread. ". But right-clicking the email (in the search results) shows NO such option.

What can I do? Thanks!
