I have no desire to interact with Google, Bing, or Perplexity, and as a rule I don't want outside parties (such as Firefox/Mozilla) deciding for me which search engines or other service providers I see advertising for. (And yes, seeing that "G" logo somewhere is advertising for Google.) I'm assuming that these companies are paying to be pre-loaded as search providers in Firefox, and I understand that Firefox needs this financial support if it's going to continue providing a browser.

After upgrading, I've always gone into the settings and removed these search providers - I don't want to see them offered as search options, and to be honest, I don't even want to see their names in the settings screens.

Now with Firefox 152, I find that I'm not able to delete these pre-loaded search providers anymore. I can turn off a switch to disable them, but there's no way to totally delete them from the list anymore. There's even a [in the documentation] which explicitly says that the pre-loaded search providers cannot be removed, only hidden.

'WHY can I not delete them?

Is there a technical reason, i.e. would the browser stop working if they were removed? Are some companies paying extra to not be delete-able, and it just happens that every one that's pre-loaded in Firefox 152 decided to pay the extra money? Or did Mozilla just make an arbitrary decision to reduce the level of control that users have over their own browsers?

Hi,Sorry to post this again,But I have spent over 4 hours trying every thing I can to correct it Since the last update,It totally Changed all my settings I managed to correct them,all BUT one & even though I have tried & Tried,I cannot remove SEARCH BAR on Toolbar Menu I have Been Through all Firefox Settings But Nothing Works & I have even removed all extensions,but NOTHING WORKS It was never on it before until the Update & it is a total Nuisance plesaea assist Thank you Darryl

I open the sidebar, search for something, and then minimize it. When I focus back on the page and return to the sidebar again, my last query is gone and a new page screen appears. I want to continue from where I left off, just like in Opera. This also causes issues in other applications. For example, when we add WhatsApp to the sidebar and open it, we have to wait for WhatsApp to reload every single time. Without these features, there is no point in using the sidebar.

Hi. Now that the 'Open Link in Split View' has annoyingly replaced the spot previously held by 'Open Link in New Window' i keep clicking on it accidentally (muscle memory).

I don't want to have to retrain my muscle memory, but despite creating css file generated by Claude that should in theory remove the option, and putting it the Profile Folder, it will not go away.

How do i remove it?

Due to muscle menu or not needing to think about it. Split should either be near the bottom of the context menu or you should be able to toggle it in settings. The amount of times I have gone to click a link to open in a new window only to split the view is driving me crazy.

Firefox 151.0.1 64 bit for Arch Linux I am trying to create a desktop app from a website - the ai is saying if there is no + sign in the url box then try More Tools -> Create Shortcut but there is no Create shortcut there. So how to create a desktop app from a website?

I am still waiting for you to remove Show All in config:editor. It was unnecessary and unwanted by your users. Just allow us to access config:editor the way we used to before this moronic change.

I do not have any of the Deprecated preference settings in use.

The error presented is -2016281112 and checking the respective settings in about:config on a synchronised device shows that the settings have not applied.

Feedback on Firefox Widgets – Missing Indian Standard Time (IST)

I noticed that the World Clock widget includes Pakistan Standard Time (PKT) but does not provide an option for Indian Standard Time (IST). This is surprising given that India has one of the world's largest internet user bases and a significantly larger population than many countries currently represented.

India operates on a unique UTC+5:30 time zone used by over 1.4 billion people, making it one of the most widely used time zones globally. The absence of IST while neighboring time zones are available feels like a major oversight and reduces the usefulness of the widget for Indian users and anyone who regularly works with Indian colleagues, clients, friends, or family.

Please consider adding Indian Standard Time (IST) to the World Clock widget as a standard option. Its inclusion would greatly improve the widget's global coverage and usability.

System Windows 11 - Firefox 151.0.3 All normal actions from mouse right click have disappeared eg open link in new tab or private window, copy, paste etc etc. The Settings General - Tabs has not changed and previously worked rt click ok. Any help to restore the rt click function will be appreciated.

My mouse is setup so that the tilt wheel does Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab rather then whatever actions the tilt wheel would normally send, and that has worked fine for years, but now all of a sudden it is not working in Firefox, it's changing the zoom level instead which is not what I want. Firefox must be reading the mouse directly or something, because it shouldn't even be getting normal tilt wheel events.

Firefox has been automatically updated on Windows 11 and Tahoe, and now every time I close the browser, all tabs close – even the pinned ones – despite the ‘Open previous windows and tabs’ option being selected at startup.

Every time I boot up my computer firefox spams all of my previously opened tabs on my main screen. Due to the nature of my work, many of these windows are irrelevant to my work the following day. The only setting I can find to disable this behavior is already toggled off. Is this a bug? It's becoming really frustrating to close a billion windows every day when I come in to work.

I'm using the firefox instance packed in with Fedora, I believe it's a system package, not a flatpak.
