address autocomplete has suddenly stopped suggesting names, and by default if I type a name it appears in red

environment: macbook pro early 2011 os mavericks 10.9.2 thunderbird v29.0 I have multiple IMAP and POP accounts

Since the previous release of T-B autocomplete no longer suggests names. In addition, the name filed defaults to a red colour type font, and I also notice I have 5 separate instances of personal address book, collected address book and MAC OS X address book....
