Very recently, and very annoying, I cannot open such sites as Amazon, BBC, etc without a new website called TellyPass asking me to sign in and pay up, in order to access the sites I had tried to log in with. This does not happenif I open the sites using IE and Chrome.

How can I get rid of this wretched website, and continue to access Amazon and BBC through my preferred browser Firefox?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Please see the service details to wipe the cache and unresgister with your paypal account: https://www.tellypass.com/faq.html

You can also try a new profile Use multiple profiles in Thunderbird. Please post back to let us know if this helped.

It doesn't make sense to me at all.

my Paypal account has no reference to TellyPass .. and the Multiple Profiles is just Gobblygook !!

You can check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":
