Automatically set focus to the address line on the home page?

borekb

I like the about:home page as a home page, however, the Google search field in the middle of the page "steals" focus from the address line. Is there a settings somewhere to tell the about:home page to leave the focus in the URL bar?

There doesn't seem to be a way to change focus in what I think but I use the F6 hotkey to get to the URL bar.

I had to revert my homepage to about:blank as I usually want the caret to be in the URL bar, not somewhere on the homepage. Thanks, though.

Over the years, people have created extensions to move the focus to the address bar for the new tab page. Maybe one of those also would work on the home page?? If you're interested in that possibility, you can search for new tab related extensions: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Can't try this addon right now so I'll ask - can the URL be about:home? Or does it work only with standard internet URLs?
