I want to download Firefox to take advantage of its features, but I've seen the damage and the problems caused by the Babylon search program that piggybacks on a lot of download sites and invades the browser. Is the Firefox download from your official site 1,000% guaranteed free of this problematic program?

The official site download is safe. Also Yahoo has a version of firefox with their toolbar, that is also safe. Anywhere else it may install 3rd party stuff with it and change your homepage.

Babylon/Delta/etc. usually comes with other programs so watch what you are downloading. I usually use www.snapfiles.com to download my stuff because they tell you if the program includes 3rd party stuff in the packages.

Mozilla does not need the little money they would get in bundling such junk as it would hurt them and Firefox browser far too much.

Some people assume that certain toolbars or search engines or other such stuff comes with Firefox simply because they see it in Firefox recently. They may have forgotten they did not install or update Firefox anytime recently and that they installed some software the same day or in last short while and was what installed the junk in Firefox.

I didn't think Firefox or any other site willingly bundled their stuff with Babylon. Babylon seems to target certain kinds of downloads and piggybacks them. I just wanted to make sure that Mozilla had a way to prevent that on their download page as I'm not familiar with the technology.

I downloaded Firefox soon after being answered above and it's running fine right now.

Thanks for the quick and informative answers, everyone!
