Has any one had issues with the JD Edwards by Oracle ERP system in Firefox 20.x?
I have rolled back to Firefox 19.x as 20.x has compatibilities with my company ERP system. We use JD Edwards, which is Oracle software with a web-based front end. So I think the problem is Java-related. I have the latest Java updates. But I think some sort of Java permission change in Firefox 20.x has caused the problem. The UI loads but none of the 'applications' will open. I have tried fully enabling Java for the ERP's address but maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere? I haven't included the address because it's locally-based so you won't be able to access it. But it finishes with ".E1Menu.maf".

This software has a problem with the version number. You can fake it out by altering your browser identification and then it works. Please see this thread (from this point down):

Thanks jscher2000. The thread you linked to exactly describes my problem. Unfortunately the about:config string did not fix the problem. Now my previously-good PortableFirefox 19.0 has updated itself to 19.0.2 (while I had it shut down to try the above in my 'proper' install of 20.x) and JDE doesn't work.
I'll ressurect 19.0 and keep listening for other fixes.

You don't say what tools release you are on, or other CNC information, but the official Oracle party line is that Firefox version 5 is the highest supported version until tools 9.1, and then it is Firefox 10.
That being said, I got Firefox version 20 (and 21 beta and 23 alpha) working with my JDEdwards EnterpriseOne JAS servers running OAS by doing the following (this is a JDEdwards specific, so jargon alert)
I modified every one of the JAS server's browscap.ini files I could find, and then stopped and restarted the instances. I did it in the PY environment and bounced the PY instance first, and it worked, so I did it for all environments.
Added the following to JAS server browscap.ini:
- MOZILLA FIREFOX 20.0
[MOZILLA FIREFOX 20.0]
parent=MOZILLA FIREFOX 10.0
version=20.0
majorver=20

I couldn't see what tools release of JDE I'm on. It doesn't seem to appear anywhere on the UI.
I'm a JDE user, not a sysadmin/developer/analyst etc so unfortunately I won't be able to personally implement the fix you've suggested. I will forward it to my IT department though. Their official line is that we should be using IE8 (which is the most recent version supported by Oracle?), but it's painfully slow and renders poorly. They all use FF though, so hopefully they will be interested in implementing the fix.
