Sometimes I can't write diacritics like "é", "ã" in my e-mails. I write in Portuguese and use diacritics too much. My OS is Linux Ubuntu 11.04. Sometimes the problem occur, and sometimes it doesn't. This problem doesn't exist when I use other web browsers.

Are you using the compose key to construct those diacritics?
