Hi there.

For pro use, we deployed Firefox 6.0.1 on our network (based on XP Pro's OS). The matter is that clients (with itinerant profiles) can't make FF remember any login/passwd for their websites (boring). The checkbox "remember passwds" is activated in their FF's options. After lots of tries, I can't manage to get their FF keeping logins/passwds ... (FF doesn't even ask them to keep them).

Do you please have a solution for my problem ? Thx by advance,

Hi Mordred83,

Using old versions of Firefox is not normally recommended, because it increases security vulnerabilities and risks potentially damaging your data and systems. Even the next version of Firefox; Firefox 13; is compatible with Windows XP (assuming they are updated to at least SP2 - something that is expected).

Unless you are using a private and isolated intranet it may be worth considering use of Firefox ESR which is specifically aimed at organisations and enterprise users.

Have you any specific reasons for using firefox 6 instead of the current release or ESR ?

It may be worth considering install of multiple versions of Firefox, if an older version is needed on your intranet, the current release could be used when accessing the internet.

Yeah, for some private and technical reasons, we must use FF6 :s ! That's why I was trying to fix this. But I already know that this is unsecured. Unfortunalty, I must use this version (not an older, not a newer).
