I very much enjoy using the M/FF browser and I apologize if this is a question that reflects my ignorance of the current toolbar options with Firefox. In brief, does a "Stop" option--one that freezes a page at a certain moment while it is in the process of loading--exist on the current M/FF browser?

Between 2006-2011, I did not have internet access. I recall, however, that earlier versions of the M/FF browser (Flock, for instance) offered a "Stop" icon on the Toolbar. One advantage of this option was that by instantly "freezing" the page, the user could prevent redirected to an undesired page. The option was useful because it offered the user greater control over the loading of webpages.

Maybe such an option does not exist any longer. If so, could you let me know. If it does exist, I'd like to find out if I can install it on my M/FF toolbar. Again, apologies if my question reflects a deficient understanding of the current state of web browsers in general and yours in particular.

Thanks.

Firefox 4 and later use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar. During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button. If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.
Firefox als has a setting where it gives a warning when a page is redirected. Then you are no longer automatically redirected. You can set that in Options > Advanced > General.

Thanks for the prompt, informative reply. Following your guidance, I have located the position of the Stop/Reload icon on the toolbar. Also, I have made the change to my General preferences and will now be alerted if a page is about to redirect.

I appreciate your taking the time to field my question.
