I'm in the UK, but Firefox thinks I'm in the US? The BBC website shows US based ads, and when I tried to watch video stream on the ITV website this morning, I'm told i can't watch it because I'm not in the UK? I'm in Berkshire, 40 miles from London!

You can check the Language settings and make sure that en-GB is the first choice.

Are you using a none English ISP, a satellite link, or a work computer network ?
such problems will occur if the BBC does not recognise you as being in the UK.

BBC allow free use and no adverts to users in the UK (plus I believe Channel Isles & IOM). Additionaly I understand you are supposed to have a BBC TV licence to use the LIVE video parts of the iPlayer service.

Presumably ITV is similar, and also not recognising you as being in the UK.

Try to check the IP Address you are using, (Do a web search for methods - something such as http://whatismyipaddress.com/ ) does it appear to be in the UK ?
