Before updating to Firefox 5, I could scroll down, click on required bookmark to get a list of folders. Now, as I scroll down, bookmarks folders menus open at random - but if I close the one I don't want, I have to start over again. I've just spent 6 minutes trying (and failing) to open a bookmark I use regularly. I'm using Mac OS X v 10.5.8

Until this bug is fixed, it is possible to access bookmarks by clicking "Show all bookmarks" near the top of the bookmarks drop-down.

Another workaround until this is fixed is to use the Bookmarks link in the bookmarks toolbar. This problem was driving me crazy until I discovered this.

I find that as I slide the cursor down my bookmarks folder list they may or may not highlight, and I can't open them unless they are highlighted. This seems random. So I click "show all bookmarks" and open folders that way. With my iMac & OS X 10.5.8 whenever I want to go to bookmarks I can press the mouse tracker ball and all the windos will be displayed for me to choose bookmarks, and it begins all over again. Quite a pain. Why don't they fix this?

I discovered that if one moves the cursor rapidly down from above where your bookmarks begin - the top 5 lines - the bookmarks will highlight as desired, and if you stop quickly on the one you want you can then choose from the drop down menu. If you pause as you move down your bookmarked folders, it may freeze on one as before. The fix for that is to slide the cursor back up to the top 5 lines and start the rapide scan downward again.

Of course this is crude and not a very satisfactory solution, but it does work.
