How do I get rid of permanently the video ad display on the rt hd side of scree on on ff startpage and on other displayed pages such as hotmail. Even if I close it the space remains blank and the content of the page does not expand to fill it. Thanks

Try using the Adblock Plus add-on to block the ads.
Do a malware check with some malware scan programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
