I have small sequenced numbers coming out in a small square on everything I do - how do I get rid of that?
When I write articles and blogs f. instance in free wordpress these little numbers come out in a small square and I have to go in and remove them manually all the time. Extremely irritating and I do not know how to get rid of them. The numbers are sequenced from 1 and upwards and from the start of the page, also pages I am looking at from other places. I am sure there is a system, but not being a technical person I do not know what it means and where to go to get rid of this. Will certainly appreciate any help with this. Thanks

Pages that use Unicode (UTF-8) display a little box with the hex code if the character can't be displayed. That allows you to look up the character in a table.
If you see such a box with hex code in it then that means that Firefox can't map a character to a specific font and you have to install a font that covers the affected characters.
As a test you can also try to disable the website fonts and if that still doesn't work then try a different default font like Verdana.
Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors: Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
Thanks for the answer, did try it and it did help But only somehow. Weirdly enough I still have some numbers (fewer)coming up - only in Firefox- I have tried everything you said- Do you have more ideas? Thanks, Pia
What numbers are in those boxes?
