Why is it that when I type in part of an url in firefox search, for example "surf" when I'm wanting to visit r/surf, firefox suggests threads I viewed a single time rather than r/surf that I view multiple times per day?

You can see in chrome it behaves more like you would expect.

Sometimes plain r/surfing will be there but most of the time not, it's just random threads I viewed a single time.

There doesn't seem to be any combination of search settings that makes it suggest more frequently viewed sites

I'd rather not save anything because if my browsing habits change then it will still suggest the things I've saved first. Then id have to update it again manually. Shouldn't it update itself based on my browsing behavior?

Also, the desktop browser doesn't have this issue. It behaves as you'd expect. If I visit pages on both reddit.com/r/surfing and surfersjournal.com then they will both appear in the drop down when I type "surf". If I frequently click on reddit.com/r/surfing it will rise to the top. If after some time I start clicking surfersjournal.com more then that one will rise to the top.

Any fix for this bug yet? Considering switching mobile browsers over this. I like to use the same browser across the board so if I have to switch on mobile I'll be switching on desktop as well

Having search box issues can be annoying. Try clearing your browser’s cache check the search settings or consider resetting your browser to fix the problem.

Just tried all that it didn't fix the issue. It appears to be a mobile firefox bug. Are you saying your mobile browser search behaves different than described?

Still needing fix for this bug
