dropdown menu not visible anymore after upgrade from version 90 to 91

My website doesn't show the value of dropdown menus anymore. The dropdown still works and I can see the list when I click on it. But when not touched, the value isn't shown. Version 90 was still OK, version 91 and higher not anymore (I tested version 91, 92, 95 and 97). Edge and chrome have no issues. I have searched the web, but I can't find any answers. Can you please help?

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?

Make sure you haven't enabled High Contrast Mode in the OS settings.

Make sure you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Settings -> General: Fonts & Colors -> Colors: "Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above"

Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window
