deleted profile.ini
I recently accidently deleted my profile in profile manager. Have spent hours going through the links and advice ie: installing new version, after copying files to another dir, copying files from old to new modififying new profile.ini to point to old,but did not work. used profile mgr to try to point to old profile, did not work. Can somebody please help?

What exactly did you delete?
I don't know exactly what was deleted, I know that there is no longer a profile.ini. file
Then what is your problem in the first place?
As I said I followed all the procedures for bringing the old profile, through different ways:profile manager, copying all the folders from old thunderbird over new, modify new profile.ini. nothing seems to work.

Where are you looking for for profiles.ini? Please provide the exact full path starting with C:\.

I'd assume you're talking about folders you created with email messages in it? If so, please confirm.
What does 'I cannot get folders and files' mean? You don't see them in Thunderbird?
Is there any error message when you start Thunderbird?
