I am not able to download anything through Firefox. while other browsers work just fine. no pdf or torrent files or anything at all. and this is getting really frustrating now. to put Firefox as my default browser and to have to open another app to download something is just painful.

We are aware of this issue and a fix is due to be released very soon, possibly within a few weeks.
