What you are showing there is a single filter with a very large number of criteria. However I just added a load of criteria to a new filter and it displayed a scroll bar. So I guess you are having issues with an addon you have installed.
Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.s.
First, thank you, I regret using incorrect terminology.
Your suggestion didn't help, but it did get into a new area "Application Basics".
I was able to copy the information and have copied the information (attached) and I hope that helps
Dave
Do you mean you didn't see the "restart with add-ons disabled" option?
No sir, I did that and it didn't impact my problem
Apart from why you don't have a scrollbar, you might find it easier to manage the filter by using From + is in my address book + <filtercontacts>, where filtercontacts is an address book with all the contacts you wish to filter. That way, when you wish to add a new contact to the address book, click the star next to the address in the message header, twice, and add the contact to the relevant address book.
Thank you I think I understand the operation that you describe, but a question. Need I have an "ADDRESS BOOK" for each filter, and basically the ADDRESS BOOK and the filter share addresses? .----------------------- Additionally, at times the existing filter contents appear as shown on this attachment
See the attached picture. The rule can be 'is' or 'isn't' in 'my address book', and the address book can be any one selected in the drop-down (Personal Address Book in the example). The filter can be just one line if all the contacts you wish to filter are in a specific address book.
I can't see your picture, as the resolution is too low.
Thank you again
I've been using Thunderbird for a very long time and never noticed the "The rule can be 'is' or 'isn't' in 'my address book'". I've resized the picture and attached that file.
The picture I sent last time is "what happens", exceptionally small with multiple columns which probably a complete listing that is useless. I've resized the picture and attached that file.
Thanks to all that tried to help. A recent product update resolved my problem. To all out there, "stay healthy". Dave
