When trying to receive new messages with Thunderbird, at the bottom of the Thuderbird it shows how many messages are there, but then fails to download them to my inbox, and disappears. I have no problems sending emails, only downloading messages to my inbox. Is there a setting I need to change to make this happen? Thanks!1

Are new messages appearing in the webmail Inbox, but not downloading to TB? There might be a corrupted message blocking downloads:

I have deleted the message on my webmail, in hopes there was a corrupt email preventing the rest to download, but that was not the problem. I click send/receive, and at the right bottom, it shows "1 of 508" messages, and that would normally download to my inbox, but it disappears and no download to my inbox.

Yes, my mail is downloading to my webmail, and had to install Outlook, which I don't like, but want to have Thunderbird work, as that is much better. Is there a fix, or setting I should change to have my mail download to my inbox?

Is the account POP or IMAP? If it's POP, deleting or renaming popstate.dat in the profile folder might fix it.

If it's IMAP, I would also empty Trash and Spam/Junk/Bulk in webmail in case a corrupted message is in those folders.

Of course, as always you should exclude the TB profile folder from antivirus scanning, in case that is a factor in blocking downloads.
