Even though I say "never save" for logging in to a website, when I login the next time, it asks me again "if I want to save password". I have also gone to the exception list and manually entered the websites, and even though I block and save that website, the websites disappear from the exception list and I am again asked if I want to save password.

I believe it is something to do with cookies and site data in Firefox. This article might help: Block websites from storing cookies and site data in Firefox Do let me know if it is solved. Thank you.

In one sense it works because it does not ask if I want to save password; however, it also does not save the username which I would then have to reenter - so it helps for one item but not another. I had uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it because there were some other issues.. Before uninstalling I never had this problem. Thanks for trying.

This happens if you clear the Site Preferences.

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences
  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
  • clearing "Cookies" will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an allow exception you may want to keep

I that regard, Lockwise works a bit differently than the previous "Passwords" scheme. Now I am getting too many newly saved under Lockwise Logins that don't have the "username" attached when I elect to "Save". I need to Edit Lockwise afterwards to include that info, as soon as I save it so I am not surprised when Firefox retrieves that info and its missing the "username" - only get the Password auto-filled. Royal 'pain' now.

And with "Never Save" I wouldn't have expected the older "Passwords Manager" to save anything at all, although doubt if I ever used that "Never Save feature, I would just bypass that 'request' / message or ignore it completely and move beyond it.
