always select desktop site(Firefox preview nightly)
I really would like to be able to always use the desktop site and not have to switch to it every time. At the very least if I save a tab it should remember this setting when I open the tab later.

I would give jscher's solution from this thread a try. You'll essentially be setting up a user agent preference to force desktop view on all sites.
