Customize special Local Folders names

Is it possible to customize the names/filenames for special folders under the Local Folders account, specifically Trash and Outbox?

I am running Thunderbird v68.4.1 under Windows, if that matters. I did try to lookup answers before posting here, but what I found doesn't appear to work (any longer?), and the history of changes is pretty hard to follow between the official doc pages, the user forums and the dev bugzilla.

For example, the following do not work to change the display name from "Trash" to something else e.g. "Deleted" or "Deleted Items":

- the official suggestions for IMAP accounts (prefs.js/user.js "mail.server.server#.trash_folder_name", custom-strings.txt "chrome://messenger/locale/messenger.properties#trashFolderName" etc);

- the FolderFlags extension.

Also, the following does not work to change the Outbox filename from "Unsent Messages" to something else e.g. "Outbox":

- prefs.js/user.js "mail.default_sendlater_uri".

I could not do it. I do not think it is Easy: IF it is possible at all.

It should be possible, since language packs do precisely that. But it doesn't look to be easy, indeed. Some thoughts on that in the related thread here.
