Thunderbrowse
Hi--
In the latest version of Thunderbird (60.3.1), the internal browser (Thunderbrowse) is not opening, when a link is clicked--instead the default system browser (like Firefox/Chrome) is opening---I have to reinstall the old TB Version of 52.9.1 (last version, which was working properly for me) for the same function of opening the internal browser in a separate tab within TB . For me, opening an internal browser is often useful than an external browser.
Is there any fix for this problem in the latest TB version of 60.3.1? TB could add a feature/option in its latest version for either opening internal or external browser---

Thunderbrowse has not been supported by it's author since Version 16. So it has had a long life without any updates. However changes in V60 make old add-ons truly obsolete. They simply do not work without an update.
As the author retained all licensing rights to the add-on, there is no option of someone else to "revive" it as there would be if it was open source. So it is and will remain dead I would assume.
It is very unlikely anyone will incorporate web browsing as a "feature" of Thunderbird. While we use it for sanitized sites like the add-ons manager, it is not something that is tested outright as it is in Firefox, although the basic rendering engine from Firefox is used.
So in essence, right now there is no way to use Thunderbrowse in TB--right?

Correct, unless you are a developer and can write a new one. I certainly can't.
