The article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers suggests that there is the following feature: “Assign a website to a container, so that a specific website will always open in a specific container.” I installed the extension Firefox Multi-Account Containers version 6.0.0, but I do not see this feature in the about:preferences#containers or in the context menu of a tab.

Copied from a duplicate question:

I often open links in emails (Mozilla Thunderbird) and from command line. Links need to go to different containers. Is it possible to choose a container before a web page is downloaded?

As I understand, this feature shows up neither in “Preferences / Container Tabs” (about:preferences#containers) nor in the context menu of a tab; it is only accessible via the extension. So, if a webpage is opened in a non-default container,

  • clicking the extension’s button opens a window with the “Always open in” checkbox (as was pointed out earlier),
  • the context menu of the webpage’s contents contains the submenu “Firefox Multi-Account Containers”.

The assignment of containers to websites can be edited by clicking the extension’s button, then “Edit Containers”.

For some reason, support.mozilla.org is not opened in the assigned container ☺, but other websites are fine.

This is not what I wanted in my other question marked as duplicate, but it is better than nothing.

Yes, being on the page (opened for instance in Banking container), click the addon's icon and check the field Always open in Banking.
