I can't use the address bar to navigate to a homepage. In the pictures below, you can see that there is no autocomplete when I type in an address and hitting enter doesn't do anything. As soon as I hit the space bar during my search, google search results appear and hitting enter shows me the google search results.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Intel Xeon W-2123, GeForce GTX 1080

I tried to disable hardware acceleration and running in safe mode, but problem persists.

P.S.: I seem to be unable to upload an image -.-

The Enter key not working can happen when all suggestions have been disabled.

The location bar drop-down list can show history items, bookmarked pages, pages opened in tabs, and search suggestions. You can set what suggestions show when you enter an URL in the location/address bar bar.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Address Bar: When using the location bar, suggest:
    History
    Bookmarks
    Open tabs

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

I actually had Firefox 52.x installed, however, "about Firefox" said up-to-date. I had to manually download and install the newest version. Thanks for your help.
