Our school district uses Securly for web filtering, so I cannot go to mail.google.com or mail.yahoo.com.

I do not get the option to create an exception. I'm thinking that there is something Mozilla needs to do to acknowledge Securly as a legitimate intermediary for our web traffic. If not, our district will not be able to use the new Firefox. I really want to get away from Chrome because it has really become a bloated, resource hog.

Please advise.

I guess I should have started with Securly. :)

I installed their certificate as an authority, and now all of the sites load.

Hello, try using the secure versions of these sites https://mail.google.com and https://mail.yahoo.com !

Those are the sites getting blocked. I guess I could have included the HTTPS://, but I figured it was a given.

No, that does not work. Like I just said, I should have included the https:// in my title because the URLs you listed are already the ones I attempted to use.

Both sites fail to open, and I am sure it is because of Securly, our web filtering solution for the school district. I am not offered the opportunity to create an exception. My guess is that Mozilla needs to acknowledge Securly as a legitimate intermediary.

ugh. To go a step further, https://search.yahoo.com fails to work under the same circumstances. Luckily, Google's protocol ID doesn't change from www for their searches.

It is up to the school to do something about the infrastructure -- please contact them and let them know what's up!

Actually, I am that guy for the school district, which is why I am on Mozilla's support site requesting assistance. Our state mandates that we protect students, so we use a web filtering company called Securly. It is not an appliance located in our infrastructure because it is used for our 1-to-1 environment that protects students on their tablets even when they are at home.

I was hoping to find a solution with Mozilla, but this is probably the wrong place to have started. Can you direct me to a URL, phone #, etc. to create an escalated ticket?

OR

Would you recommend that I work with Securly and request that they reach out to Mozilla?

I checked and it looks like since filtering software is third party software there's no much we can help with on our side :(. Check the ESR mailing list here, you might be able to find more info.
