Perhaps you might ask Microsoft why they do not have an import option in their product.

Otherwise I suggest you purchase of of the commercial products that convert mail from one format to the other.

Sure it can export, but not to any formats Microsoft's proprietary mail client can read. Outlook Express did much better on the interoperability scale

Hence, buy a program that will convert it. You apparently paid money for your mail client as there is no free version, so I suppose you should expect to have to pay to get your mail into the thing, because Microsoft certainly made no provision's for that in the last couple of decades. I do remember a time when outlook had fairly good import options, but it was about 20 years ago. Thunderbird likewise has import options from various mail programs.

Why have an import option? To bring your competitors customers on board. Why have export options? Well there is no reason really. Certainly not a financial one.

File save in Thunderbird creates EML files. Microsoft live mail, outlook express and a host of other mail programs use this defacto standard mail format. Just not outlook.
