As far as I am aware, MAPI works. What does nor work and never has is EMAPI. Unfortunately for all of us most Microsoft trained developers (Microsoft .net developers) simple do not understand the difference, just as they have no clue about MIME. The result is they are prone to developing some of the least viable email tools in existence. One way the end user can check is by looking at the software. If it offers the ability to look at the address book, even if it does not work, or verify addresses in the address book it is EMAPI the developer has used.
