Why, when I use my laptop to retrieve email, do I only get that day

Using my home computer I get all my emails. When I am at work using my laptop I only get emails from that day or the day before. So no history. No way to work on projects when away from home which is hampering productivity a great deal! Please advise why that should be so. Nothing wrong with my laptop. Thank you. Is it my server then which is Optimum?
