We prefer users to start their own new threads, not jump onto the tails of an existing thread.

In the situation where a new user wants to jump in with an answer or suggestion then I'd agree that the current set-up is a bit circuitous.

But your question is not the same as the one you added onto. The OP had a running instance of OE, you do not. The solutions are therefore different.
