Local Folders do not respect address header when REPLYing

I have two email addresses, each in their own top-level folder. I FILTER certain categories of messages from both of these into various folders within Local Folders.

However, when I REPLY to one of those emails, the FROM is always the first email address, even though the email was filtered from the second email address and bears that address in its header.

This is causing messages be rejected because I am subscribed under the second address. I can't be constantly manually changing the email header when I reply. Too much wasted time, & carpal tunnel.

This is a bug.

Try this:

Via 'Menu Bar' 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab

via 'Mail toolbar' 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab

click on 'Config Editor' button it will tell you to be careful :)

In top search type: self look for this line: mailnews.reply_to_self_check_all_ident

If the value = 'false': double click on that line to toggle the 'false' to true it will turn into a bold font and status will say 'user set'.

close window - top right X click on OK to save and close Options.

close and restart Thunderbird. Test email in Local Folders.
