how to disable autoplay?

Toggling off "allow autoplay" in settings doesn't work on some websites. Pcworld.com is an example. Am I doing something wrong or is this feature broken?

Do you mean the media.autoplay.enabled preference? Unfortunately, sites can currently bypass that setting by having the player stopped when the page loads, and then using a script to send a play command to the player. That loophole should be closed in Firefox 41, according to something I read in the bug tracking system. But I'm not sure whether that is what you're seeing on the problem site.
