New Sync not working (/questions/1007210)
my laptop motherboard died and wen i installed firefox on the new pc and log in on sync , it doesnt sync anything at all both laptop and pc had same firefox version

Sync is not a backup it is meant to sync and merge data between two profiles. Unfortunately unless there is a local back up of the profile the data will no longer sync. If the profile is present, it is possible to unattach the account by :
- clicking on the Firefox icon and on the attached account and selecting "Disconnect"
- (Note: make a back up if you do not have one already: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles )
- then log back in about:preferences#sync

Really smart idea erasing sync data wen you reset password NOT Of course there is no local backup if i lost everything there , wont use firefox anymore that's for sure , how such stupid decision was made is unbelievable
