I was using the "webmail" app for my email account with the local ISP. It saves the contacts file as "contacts.csv". Using Win 8.1 (what a pain) I can not find either the webmail app folder or the contacts file using the Win search function. Any clues how to locate it? Once found, I assume I can use the TB "import - CSV files" from the TB menu. Right? Thanks

You do webmail in a browser, so I don't think you'll find an "app".

You'll have to use your browser to export the contacts to a CSV file, which it will see as a download (and probably warn you about it.)

Once you've done that you should be able to find the CSV file in your downloads folder. In Thunderbird's Address Book, Tools|Import should be able to import it. Take care to align the fields in the imported data with those in TB's Address Book.

Look at the bit named "From somewhere else to Thunderbird:" here: http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk//11_Thunderbird_Settings_and_the_Profile.html
